About kevin
I grew up in Sussex, at the base of the Southdown’s, I have always ridden a bike whether to school, work as a young teenager or for fun. Being on the Southdown’s and in the country side mountain biking quickly became my preferred discipline.
I have worked in the AV industry for the last 30 years, as a senior engineer and more recently focusing on technical sales. This has been an incredible experience, and has allowed me to travel with work as well through the UK and abroad, I have had the privilege to work on some amazing projects for private individuals through the years.
Sadly with work commitments and starting a family cycling took a back seat for a while. Having kids quickly got me back in to riding as I was keen for them to both become comfortable on bikes and cycle to school and for fun.
I got into road riding in 2015 when I entered my first Ride London event and realised 100 miles on a mountain bike was going to be a slog! I then joined a local club and started riding more and more, some members where into Gravel and as soon as I tried it I new this was for me! I now spend most of my time off road, I love the country side and constantly amazed by the bridal path network across the UK and just how far you can ride without being on a road!

FAQs
What is a mobile bike fit?
A professional mobile bike fit is a service where a trained expert comes to your location to adjust and tailor your bicycle to your specific body measurements and riding style. This ensures optimal comfort, efficiency, and performance.
Why should I get a bike fit?
Getting a bike fit can significantly improve your riding experience. It helps in reducing discomfort, preventing injuries and increasing efficiency and power output. Whether you’re a casual rider or a competitive cyclist, a proper bike fit is essential for enjoying your rides to the fullest.
How long does a bike fit take?
A typical bike fit takes approximately 2.5 – 3 hours, depending on your specific needs and the adjustments required. Our goal is to ensure your bike fits you perfectly, so we take the time needed to get every detail right.
What do need for the bike fit?
Your bike, cycling shoes and your usual cycling attire. It’s important to fit you in the gear you normally ride in to ensure the adjustments are tailored to your regular riding conditions. If you have booked to have additional bikes or shoes fitted at the same time, please have them available.
Can you fit all types of bikes?
Yes, we specialise in fitting all types of bikes, including road, gravel, triathlon, TT, track and static training bikes such as Watt bike. Each type of bike has unique fitting considerations, which we are fully equipped to handle.
How do I prepare for the bike fit?
Ensure your bike is clean and in good working condition. We cannot do a bike fit on a bike which is not in good working order. If you have any specific concerns or areas of discomfort while riding, be ready to discuss them during your appointment as twe will ask you all of this.
How much space do I need for the bike fit?
You’ll need enough space to set your bike up on a turbo trainer and we’ll also have an exercise mat for you to undergo your biomechanical assessments. This is a rough area of 2 to 3 meters squared.
If you could also make sure that any valuable or precious belongings are removed from the fitting space and please ensure that any pets (or small children) are also kept away from the fitting area.
Is a mobile bike fit as effective as a studio fit?
Absolutely! Our mobile bike fit service offers the same level of expertise and precision as a studio fit. The Bike Fitters are trained to a very high standard with continuous on going training especially around biomechanics and complex cases. The advantage is that we bring this service directly to you, providing convenience without compromising on quality.

id match laser guided cleat fit
Our idmatch Footmeter uses a laser to quickly and accurately measure your feet. This helps us record key measurements such as foot length, foot width and metotarsal length.
The idmatch Tiltmeter is a special tool we use to check how your foot sits when you’re actually pedaling. It helps us see if your foot leans inwards or outwards (pronation or supination), which is really important for a comfortable ride.
Finally, our idmatch Cleat Fit system makes sure the part of your shoe that clips onto the pedal (the cleat) is perfectly aligned. We use a laser and cleat stencil to get this just right, so your feet feel great and you pedal efficiently

Here’s what he had to say when Bike Fitters HQ threw him some questions
What’s your favourite bike and why?
I love all my bikes, MTB, Gravel and Road. I am always tinkering and upgrading different parts to make them perfect for my needs. If I have to pick a favourite…. I guess it would be my Fairlight Strael Road Bike, I purchased this as a frame only following a Bike Fit and built it to exactly as I wanted it to be. A mixture of Gravel Bars, and GRX Shifters, with an Ultegra drive set and Hope Cyclocross Carbon Wheels. I love descending so oversized
180mm Hope Rotors and 4 pot Callipers means no brake fade and loads of stopping power.
Best ride you’ve ever been on?
Too many to list! As a Mountain Biker at heart visiting Whistler Bike Park in Canada and riding the famous A-Line was a massive tick on the bucket list, but an annual favourite and highly recommended ride to anyone is the Dunwich Dynamo. A ride that sees over A 1000 cyclists set off from Hackney in London and ride overnight to Dunwich on the Suffolk Coast, there is always something quite magical and charming about the ride, from the people you meet, the bike they are on, to the great stops along the route provided by local Scout Groups, The Fire Brigade and village halls, all raising money for their communities.
If you could cycle anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to experience some of the Champagne Gravel in America, entering Unbound in Kansas be a dream come true! A more realistic goal is riding some of the Glorious Gravel international trips, I’m starting off this year with Girona, and looking to do Oman and Morocco in the not to distant future!
What cycling event do you never miss watching on TV?
Like most I love the Tour de France, and is probably the only road event I make a point of watching, otherwise its Downhill Mounting Biking, events like Redbull Hardline and the Downhill World Championships.
What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you while on a bike?
I have a reputation for breaking things, wheels, frames, seat posts etc.. which others find very funny. While in Whistler I over cleared a jump and landed so hard on the saddle I almost bent it in half and slid off onto the rear wheel using my bum as a brake. The hire shop found it all very funny and put the saddle on the wall of shame!
Who’s your cycling hero and why?
It would have to be a hero family and that’s the Atherton’s. Gee, Dan and Rachel have accomplished so much and are a great inspiration to mountain bikers and encouraging the youngsters into the sport. They have gone from world champions to running there own race team, building and designing their own 3D printed titanium bikes in Wales which are then raced in the world series.
What’s your pre-ride ritual?
Coffee and Weetabix !
What’s the best piece of cycling advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t know about the best, but “Full send, bones mend” gets used alot!
